Tarkarli sits where the Karli river meets the Arabian Sea. The estuary settles the silt, the reef sits shallow, and the result is visibility you would otherwise fly to the Andamans for.

02 · Equipment preparation
Your instructor assembles and pressure-tests your kit in front of you. Every set is serviced on a fixed schedule.

Fifteen minutes on breathing, equalising and the six hand signals that matter — practised on deck.

You descend on a line and stop at two metres to equalise. Nobody goes deeper until you signal you're ready.

Malvan is a working fishing town with a 350-year-old sea fort in its harbour. The diving is the reason people come. It is rarely the reason they remember it.

A 17th-century sea fort built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on a rock island, with walls laid in lead and lime that have held the Arabian Sea off for three and a half centuries.

The unglamorous part we take most seriously
Twenty-seven seasons, forty-two thousand divers, zero serious incidents. That is not luck; it is a checklist nobody is allowed to skip.

Certified Instructors
All 24 instructors hold a current PADI or SSI professional rating, plus EFR (Emergency First Response) and oxygen-provider certification, revalidated annually.

Safety Equipment
Every regulator is serviced every 100 dives or 12 months, whichever comes first. Tanks are hydro-tested on a five-year cycle and visually inspected annually — logs available on request.
